  • Stuttgart Airport – The gateway to Southwest Germany

    Stuttgart Airport is located right in the heart of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the third largest state in Germany. With its 3.345 m runway, four modern terminal buildings and its direct highway and train access, Stuttgart Airport provides everything an airport needs to handle all types of flight, from regional to intercontinental. In 2019, 12.7 million passengers departed from or arrived at Stuttgart Airport.

    Capital City
    Stuttgart is the capital city of Baden-Wuerttemberg. The modern and vibrant city offers a broad selection of ancient buildings as well as modern architecture, cultural highlights and high-class recreational facilities. 

    4th largest catchment area (relative to other German airports)
    Over 11 million people live in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, of which 5,7 million live within a 60-minute radius around the airport (by car).  A further 5,3 million people live within a 90-minute radius.

    Strong economic power
    Multinational companies such as Daimler (Mercedes Benz), Porsche, Bosch and Hugo Boss have their headquarters nearby the airport. More than 426.000 Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) are situated in Baden-Wuerttemberg, which is the highest density of SMEs in Germany.

    Famous tourist attractions
    Stuttgart and its region feature world famous attractions such as the 2nd largest beer festival in the world (called ‘Cannstatter Wasen’), the Daimler Benz Museum and the Porsche Museum as well as a unique outlet shopping experience in Metzingen. Moreover, Stuttgart Airport is the gateway to worldwide known tourism destinations such as the City of Heidelberg, Baden-Baden with its famous casinos and the Black Forest.

    • Operations: Shipping papers, monitoring of loading, weight calculation, etc.
    • Ground traffic service: Primarily passenger transportation, baggage, drinking water and disposal services
    • Passenger clearance: Embarking, lost & found office

    Business activities non-aviation

    • Construction of office buildings, parking blocks and other premises.
    • Rental and leasing of restaurants, parking blocks, plots
    • Supply services, incl. electric power, water, heating, cleaning, waste disposal, information- and communications Technology.
