With more than four million passengers per year, Air Astana is the leading airline in Central Asia and the national carrier of Kazakhstan. The airline has over 30 modern Boeing, Airbus and Embraer jets in its fleet with an average age of approximately five years.

As a result of the high service standards, Air Astana was awarded at the renowned Skytrax World Airline Awards with four stars and also named as "Best Airline in Central Asia and India" for eight years in a row.
The young, dynamically growing airline is a joint venture of Kazakhstan's National Wealth Fund Samruk Kazyna and the British company BAE Systems, holding 51 and 49 percent of the shares respectively. President and CEO is the British national Peter Foster since more than ten years.
Air Astana currently serves over 60 international and domestic destinations. Its hubs are the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan (former Astana), the metropolis Almaty and Atyrau on the Caspian Sea.
The national carrier of Kazakhstan offers daily nonstop services from Frankfurt am Main to Nur-Sultan (former Astana), with a state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300. In the winter season a Boeing 757-200 is operated on this route. Once a week the airline serves Frankfurt-Uralsk, twice a week Frankfurt-Atyrau and in summer season the nonstop service between Hannover and Kostanaj.
