Air Europa, the airline of the largest Spanish touristic enterprise Globalia, was founded over three decades ago and has ever since extended its wings to take the lead from their hub in Madrid to routes over the Atlantic, being the first choice for over 11 million passengers annualy.
With scheduled services to 70 destinations and a fleet of 60 aircrafts, Air Europa joined in 2007 the global airline alliance SkyTeam and achieved being the second airline worldwide with a EMAS certificate for sustainability, the most demanding one in the European Union.
Air Europa has also been the first Spanish carrier accomplishing the ETOPS flight, and with the arrival of the first Dreamliner has become an emblem of defense and environmental responsibility.
Air Europa owns the most modern and efficient fleet, spearheaded by the Dreamliners, which cover the overseas routes. The airline, being the first one in Spain operating Boeing 787, supplements its long haul fleet with Airbus 330, and covers all medium and short haul routes with the Boeing 737-8. The subsidiary company, Air Europa Express, operates with Embraer 195 and ATR.
According to Atmosfair, efficiency and the commitment to sustainability have launched Air Europa into being considered the airline with the most efficient network in Europe. The firm environmental engagement goes hand in hand with the universal principles of the United Nations Global Compact, to which Air Europa adheres since 2012.
