BARIG Networking & Conference Day – At Great Heights
Conference with a view.
On October 14, 2025, BARIG brought together airline representatives, business partners, and industry leaders at the Deutsche Bahn Silver Tower in Frankfurt with an amazing panoramic view from the 31st floor. By bringing together different voices from across the industry, BARIG’s Networking & Conference Day once again demonstrated its role as a platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration within the aviation community.
Following a warm-up lunch and initial networking, the conference opened with Dr. Michael Peterson, Board Member for Long Distance Passenger Transport at Deutsche Bahn AG. He outlined how rail and air transport can complement each other to create sustainable and efficient travel chains, highlighting the importance of coordinated infrastructure and planning for climate-conscious mobility solutions.
Next, Thomas Hoff Andersson, Managing Director & COO of Munich Airport, shared best practices from airport operations that have enhanced efficiency and improved passenger experience. His contribution showed how data-driven decisions and teamwork can directly influence airport performance and service quality.
The agenda continued with Friedrich-Wilhelm Menge, Chief Technology Officer at DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, who examined how digitalization is transforming air traffic management. He emphasized the balance between innovation and safety, referring to recent drone-related incidents as examples of evolving challenges in controlled airspace.
Networking breaks throughout the day encouraged lively discussion and exchange, while after-work drinks rounded off the event in a relaxed and engaging way.
