ICM I/2022: BARIG Airlines Visit Munich Airport’s Construction Site

After two years of virtual conferences, the BARIG Infrastructure Committee Munich finally took place on site again to discuss the current infrastructural projects and challenges at Munich Airport.

At the beginning of the meeting, BARIG Secretary General Michael Hoppe gave a brief presentation on the current state of air traffic and welcomed Oliver Dersch who is following Andreas von Puttkamer as MUC’s new Vice President Traffic Development. Together with Robert Kärtner, Vice President Financial Management & Controlling Business Division Aviation, Oliver Dersch presented a brief overview of the status-quo and further proceedings regarding the current refurbishment and modernization measures at MUC Airport. Further central points of discussion included infrastructural ways to improve the customer experience and passenger flows. Subsequently to the meeting, the BARIG airline representatives were given the opportunity to visit the construction site and watch the progress of the Terminal 1 refurbishment and extension.
